\u00a1Hola! My name is Elizabeth Herman, but many call me Liz. I was born and raised in New Orleans, and I\u2019ve been teaching languages for over 20 years. I graduated from Middlebury College<\/a> with a degree in Spanish and English. I also received an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury, with course work completed in Madrid, Spain. I lived in Spain for three years, studying and teaching English. and later earned my master’s in Madrid, where I started teaching English. I then returned to the United States to continue graduate coursework in Spanish at the University of Virginia<\/a>-Charlottesville. I taught a variety of undergraduate Spanish classes at UVA and later at Augustana University<\/a> in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After 6 years at Augustana, I returned to New Orleans with my family. I taught at Metairie Country Day School<\/a> for twelve years. Now in addition to tutoring, I teach Adult classes for Casa de Espa\u00f1a<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to studying and living abroad (in high school, college, and as an adult), I\u2019ve also traveled extensively throughout Spanish-speaking countries, especially Spain, where my husband was born. I bring cultural insights and real-world perspectives into my lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a lifelong New Orleanian, I treasure everything that makes our city vibrant and unique, from music festivals and Mardi Gras to our rich cultural traditions. I am passionate about teaching and making a lasting impact on my students by helping them grow linguistically and culturally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, attending concerts, traveling with my family, and spending as much time as possible at the beach, especially along the Gulf Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
